Credit information and credit reporting
LEGALReview before publish. This section was rewritten on the instruction that Property Funding Co. does not carry out credit checks. Confirm three things: that no credit reports are obtained and nothing is exchanged with credit reporting bodies; that stating the Part IIIA credit reporting provisions do not apply is correct for this business; and that the third paragraph describes lenders' own credit checks accurately.
We do not carry out credit checks. We do not obtain credit
reports about you, and we do not collect information about you
from, or disclose information about you to, credit reporting
bodies. Because we do not collect, hold, use or disclose credit
reporting information, the credit reporting provisions in Part
IIIA of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) do not apply to the way we
handle your information.
We do collect financial information that you give us. Depending
on your scenario this may include details of your existing loans
and facilities, and anything you choose to tell us about
defaults, judgments or past credit issues. We use it only to
understand your scenario, to work out which lenders are likely to
fund it, and to arrange and manage that funding.
Lenders and funders we refer your scenario to may carry out their
own credit checks, including with credit reporting bodies. Those
checks are made under each lender's own privacy policy and credit
reporting practices, and the lender will tell you what applies
before you proceed with an application.
The financial information we hold about you is personal
information, so we handle it under this policy and the Australian
Privacy Principles. You can ask for access to it or ask us to
correct it, and you can complain about how we have handled it.
See "Accessing and correcting your information" and "Complaints"
